Overview

The Rocky Mountain Adaptive (RMA) development team Head Coach is a coaching position which will provide technical leadership and coaching for our 2019/20 Development team program.

Reporting to RMA Executive Director, the successful candidate will have a background in ski coaching with relevant technical qualifications, strong communication and presentation skills, and effective administrative and organizational skills. This position will also require travel between December and April to attend events, outreach and competitions.

Duties

Leading a Full time and part time training program for Aspiring Para Alpine Athletes
Using a mixture of gate training and technical free ski for continued skill development
Using Video analysis for athlete development
Building and utilizing personalized Athlete development programs
Setting up and overseeing athlete dry land programs
Leasing with athletes regional or provincial coaches/support systems
Managing all race entries, accommodation and travel for attending races/events with the team.
Work in conjunction with all team coaches to design, implement, and monitor annual training and competition plan.
Assist in record-keeping of all collected data.
Monitor Athlete’s equipment needs
Provide assistance to oversee maintenance and control of team equipment.
Provide timely and effective communication to Athletes, parents/caregivers, Coaches, and RMA staff.
Provide Leadership in all on-snow duties (i.e. course preparation, course-setting, and course maintenance).
Ensure welfare and health of Athletes when training and travelling.
Ability to monitor and/or assist in ski preparations an asset.
Manage key logistics as determined by Executive director.

Working Conditions

Work is full-time.
The Coach is frequently required to work out of doors in winter conditions.

Employment Requirements

Advanced skiing abilities.
Strong leadership skills.
Previous Coaching experience.
Certification in ACA-CSC or International equivalent.
CSCF competition level or development level or international equivalent.
Valid Driver’s Licence
Para Alpine coaching experience an asset
CSIA certifications or international equivalent an asset
CADS certifications or international equivalent an asset
Mandatory background check

Salary: $3,200 – $4,000/month
Qualification Required: BASI Level 1
