Cairngorm Ski Club are seeking a Race Coach to jointly deliver our Core Programme, which is based primarily on Cairngorm Mountain; the Coach will be integral to the coaching team & is required to deliver the Clubs Core Race Coaching Programme, consisting of the clubs Junior (18-12 yrs old) & Bairns (8-12 yrs) programme; which will include on-snow coaching – including developing training input & feedback to trainees along with required goal setting, ability to analyse skier development & plan training programmes & athlete development accordingly; the Core Programme is delivered over a 10 week programme on Saturdays & Sundays commencing from 12th January & running to 17th March 2019, with the possibility of further work during school holiday periods – Christmas, Mid Term & Easter breaks, further additional week day work may be available (tbc); the Coach would ideally have the ability to Course Set, with the expected requirement to ensure on-snow athlete safety observing & promoting best mountain practise with an ability to determine suitable training areas; good communication skills are essential, which will include communication with Parents to update on athlete development through the training programme with an ability to summarise in required athlete coaching reports at determined intervals through the programme; the Coach is also required to provide Race Day support at club races at home & away at other resorts; an ability to help deliver the clubs Dryland & club fitness programme as well is required (training will be provided), with an understanding of Ski Maintenance as well would be ideal; flexibility will be required for travel to alternative other Scottish training venues as Race Calendar/training programme /weather conditions requires (travel allowance available);

This role requires the applicant Coach to be suitably qualified with a valid license at BASI L2 or UKCP L2 Alpine Coach preferred (or alternative equivalent)  with a current First Aid Certificate; the Coach is expected to provide their own ski equipment – skis/boots etc; a Coach jacket & Lift Pass will be provided by the club; a Driving License would be ideal but not essential; the Coach will report to the Head Coach/Coaching Trustee;
